Dr Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR) visited ICAR-National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning, Regional Centre, Bengaluru today. In an interaction with scientists and other staff of the Centre, he stressed on development of land use plans and execution in the drought prone areas. He also urged to demonstrate to the farmers and planners for wider adoption of the technology. Later, Dr Mohapatra visited pedonarium, soil analytical laboratories and GIS laboratory.
Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-NBSS&LUP briefed on the flagship programmes of the Bureau, namely, Land Resource Inventory (LRI) on 1:10000 scale, Development of Soil Geoportal Agricultural Land Use Planning using LRI database.
Dr. Rajendra Hegde, Head Regional Centre briefed on various activities and achievements of the centre and Bureau.
