The two-day (28-29th May) 4th Annual Review Workshop of the National Agricultural Science Fund was conducted here under the Chairmanship of Dr. Panjab Singh, Former Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICAR.
Dr S. Ayyappan, Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICAR while welcoming the participants impressed for good working environment in the institutes(s), projects to be problem solving in nature and achievements to be timely.
The Chairman, Empowered Committee observed that the projects need to be focussed and called upon the CPIs to bring commitment for the project from the day of formulating the project. The deliverables in terms of publications, patents and technologies need to come out of projects.
Dr P. K. Agrawal, Assistant Director General, NASF made a presentation giving details regarding the formation and activities of NASF. It was followed by open discussion and observations by the participants. Members of the Empowered Committee, Deputy Director Generals of ICAR, members of the Expert Committees and Chairmen of Advisory Committees made their observations for different aspects of funding.
During two days of deliberations 19 projects were presented and discussed in detail. In the afternoon of 29th May 2015, again a general discussion and observations from different participants were taken in order to improve the funding.
