Dr Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR) visited ICAR-Directorate of Groundnut Research, Junagadh today.
In his address to staff of the Institute, he appreciated the Directorate in commercializing cellulase and protease enzyme technologies. Dr Mohapatra called for a concerted effort of all the staff in bringing the organization to a newer heights, he emphasized a greater focus on utilization of wild species, varietal development, quality improvement, and management of biotic and abiotic stresses in the research programmes.
He visited the farmers’ groundnut fields in and around Juangadh, museum, experimental fields and the DGR farm. He also visited labs of Biotechnology, Microbiology and Physiology and interacted with the Scientists on the progress of research activities.
Dr T. Radhakrishnan, Director, ICAR-DGR made a brief presentation on establishment, progress and functioning of DGR along with staff strength and budget.
