Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) visited ICAR-Central Sheep & Wool Research Institute, Avikanagar here today.
Dr. Mohapatra, while addressing the scientists and staff of the Institute and farmers, emphasized to transfer the technologies developed by institute to the farmers for doubling their income from sheep and goat husbandry. He further reiterated that the farmer problem should be identified and properly address to resolve through research and interventions. He distributed the elite rams and bucks to the farmers for genetic improvement of their germplasm.
He later visited the Sheep farm, agriculture farm and laboratories of the Institute.
Dr. H. Rahman, Deputy Director General (Animal Science) also graced the occasion and highlighted research contribution of the Institute for benefit of the farmers.
Dr. S.M.K. Naqvi, Director, ICAR-CSWRI gave a brief overview of the major activities of the Institute.
