A one-day Sensitization and Awareness Workshop on “Kisan Sarathi: 2.0” was successfully organized by ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone VI, Guwahati at KVK, Kamrup today. The programme aimed to strengthen digital agricultural extension services and enhance awareness and adoption of the Kisan Sarathi platform among stakeholders.
In the inaugural session, Dr G. Kadirvel, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone VI, Guwahati delivered the welcome address and emphasized the importance of digital platforms in improving farmer outreach and advisory services. A Kisan Sarathi leaflet was also released to promote awareness and facilitate wider dissemination of information among farming communities.

The technical sessions provided detailed insights into the upgraded features of Kisan Sarathi 2.0. The experts elaborated on key functionalities such as event management, resource repositories, dashboards, online meetings, and integrated help desk systems. The platform enables KVKs to upload events, share knowledge resources, and directly connect with farmers through multiple channels including mobile apps, web portals, and WhatsApp.
The session highlighted the role of Kisan Sarathi 2.0 as a scientific advisory backbone, along with its integration with Bharat Vistaar, chatbot systems, and AI-based advisory mechanisms. It also covered structured query management, service-level agreements (SLA), and multi-channel farmer support systems to ensure timely and effective problem resolution.
Additionally, the operational workflow and implementation strategies of Kisan Sarathi 2.0 were discussed, focusing on enhancing farmer outreach and improving service delivery.
A key highlight of the workshop was the emphasis on transforming KVK-generated content into a digital knowledge repository accessible nationwide. Participants were encouraged to digitize extension materials, promote farmer registration, and actively use the platform to enhance visibility and outreach.

An interactive feedback session was held where farmers, FPO representatives, and KVK personnel shared their experiences, challenges, and suggestions for further improvement of the platform. The discussions underscored the need for increased awareness, capacity building, and continuous technical support.
The programme marked a significant step towards leveraging digital innovation for strengthening agricultural advisory services and empowering farmers with timely, reliable, and accessible information.
The workshop witnessed participation from ICAR, Scientists, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) representatives, Subject Matter Specialists (SMS), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and farmers.
About 105 participants attended the workshop.
