The ICAR-Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana in collaboration with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana organized the Training Programme on “Diversification through Value-Addition in Milk Products and Livestock Health Management for SC Community” under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan Programme from 12^th to 13^th August, 2021.

10^th August, 2021, Barrackpore

Dr. P. Chandra Sekhara, Director General, MANAGE, Hyderabad inaugurated a Collaborative Virtual Training Programme on “NUTRISMART FISH to boost the Nutritional Security of the Rural Women” jointly organized by the ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore, Kolkata and MANAGE, Hyderabad from 10^th to 12^th August, 2021. In his address, Dr. Sekhara stated about the nutritional security and the importance of extension activities to achieve it.

The ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources, Karnal, Haryana organized a National Workshop on “Mission towards Zero Non-Descript AnGR of India” today.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) emphasized on the significance of characterization and registration of the non-descript population of the country. The Director General urged for giving emphasis on conservation and improvement of a new population along with its registration.

The ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation, Research Centre, Udhagamandalam has organized the One Month Internship Training Programme on “Soil and Water Conservation and Watershed Management for B.Tech. Students” from 10^th August, 2021 to 9^th September, 2021.

A Virtual Workshop on “High Performance Computing (HPC) in the Agriculture Domain” was hosted by the IIT, Indore; ICAR-Indian Institute of Soybean Research, Indore, Madhya Pradesh and Mahindra University, Hyderabad in collaboration with the C-DAC, Pune, Maharashtra; IISC, Bengaluru and IIT, Kharagpur, West Bengal from 14^th July, 2021 to 16^th July, 2021. The Workshop was organized under the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM) from the Supercomputer Education and Research Centre (SERC).

The ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, Kolkata organized a Workshop on “Importance of Handloom in Our Society and Economy-cum-Exhibition of Handloom Products” at Kolkata on the occasion of National Handloom Day today.

In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. S.A. Wani, Director (Research), Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Jammu & Kashmir emphasized on the importance of hand spinning and handloom weaving of Pashmina Shawls.

The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone - III, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh organized the “2^nd Virtual Review Workshop of Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa (GKMS)” today.

In his welcome address, Dr. Atar Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kanpur urged for integrating the crop information with the Meteorological Data for the Quality Weather Forecast Advisories.

The ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar, Odisha organized a Capacity Building Programme on “Post-Harvest Management and Value-Addition of Fruits and Vegetables for Women Farmers” in Sankilo Village, Nischintakoili Block, Cuttack District, Odisha today.

The ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering & Technology, Kolkata in collaboration with Jute Corporation of India Ltd. organized a Workshop on “Fibre Grading Instruments & Fibre Grading Systems” at Kolkata today. In this context, the first “Onsite Digital Jute Grading Camp” was organized at the Balagarh, Hooghly District, West Bengal from 29^th to 30^th July, 2021.
