109th Foundation Course for ARS Scientists Concludes at ICAR-NAARM

The three-month Foundation Programme for 109^th FOCARS probationers concluded at ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad today.

In his Valedictory address, the Chief Guest, Dr. Panjab Singh, Former Director General, ICAR and President, NAAS urged the young scientists for inculcating the research aptitude for excelling in the respective subject towards a common goal to feed the growing population of the country with effective utilization of natural resources and brining in the entrepreneurial aspect to the Indian farming.

Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM hoped that the foundation programme had honed the scientific temperament to carry out their research responsibilities efficiently in their respective places of posting with a broader objective of serving the farming community.

Dr. Senthil Vinayagam, Course Director outlined the structure and intent of the foundation programme while Dr. S. K. Soam, Joint Director welcomed the Chief Guest to the audience.

A book on “Challenges and Emerging Opportunities in Indian Agriculture” was also released on the occasion that has chronicled the futuristic visions of all scientist probationers in their respective discipline in the form of book chapters.

A souvenir of 109^th FOCARS and a publication on start-ups were also released on the occasion.

Around 32 scientists participated in the 109^th FOCARS.
