Dr. M.L. Jat, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), visited the ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Pune, and held an interaction meeting with the scientific, administrative, and financial personnel of Pune-based ICAR institutes.
In his address, Dr. Jat thanked the Maharashtra team for organizing the meeting and appreciated their efforts in bringing together the ICAR fraternity. He observed that much of the ongoing work across institutions is being carried out in silos and urged the institutes to enhance inter-institutional collaboration for greater synergy and impact. He emphasized the importance of integrating both scientific and administrative data under ICAR’s data policy to create a comprehensive and unified framework for research and governance.

Dr. Jat underscored the need to “Reform, Perform, Transform, and Inform”highlighting that effective communication of research outcomes and their societal impact is as crucial as innovation itself. He called for a unified approach with the spirit of “One Organization, One Purpose, One Narrative”, encouraging scientists and staff to work collectively towards the national vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
He further stressed that coordinated and collaborative efforts among all ICAR institutes are essential to drive innovation, efficiency, and measurable impact. Dr. Jat urged teams to transcend disciplinary and institutional boundaries, cultivate a culture of collaboration, co-creation, and communication, and remain accountable to the shared mission of transforming Indian agriculture. He reminded participants that “Together We Achieve More”, reinforcing that collective action is key to realizing national agricultural goals.

Earlier, Dr. S. K. Roy, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Pune, presented an overview of the institute’s structure, staff strength, and the infrastructure development of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) under its jurisdiction.
The interaction concluded with an open discussion, during which Dr. Jat attentively listened to the suggestions and concerns of Directors, scientists, and administrative staff, and encouraged them to continue working cohesively towards achieving the nation’s agricultural development objectives.
