Dr M. L. Jat, Secretary, (DARE) and Director General, (ICAR) visited ICAR–National Institute for Biotic Stress Management, Raipur, today. He was accompanied by Dr. D. K. Yadav, Deputy Director General (Crop Sciences), and Dr. Rajbir Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension).

Dr Jat reviewed the institute’s progress and offered valuable suggestions for strengthening research outcomes with maximum impact, emphasizing fundamental and basic research relevant to farmers’ needs. He also interacted with the scientists and students, highlighting the importance of innovation, interdisciplinary research, and farmer-centric approaches, and appreciated the institute’s contributions towards sustainable agriculture.
The dignitaries were accorded a warm welcome by the Dr. P. K. Rai, Director, ICAR-NIBSM, along with scientists, students, and staff members of the institute. Dr. Rai apprised the visiting delegation about the institute’s mandate, ongoing research programmes, and major achievements in the domain of biotic stress management.

The visit concluded with an interactive discussion, reaffirming ICAR’s commitment to strengthening agricultural research, innovation, and effective technology dissemination for the benefit of the farming community.
