16 December 2025, Hyderabad
ICAR–Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, commenced Swachhta Pakhwada today, which will continue until 31 December 2025. As part of the observance, a sapling plantation drive was organised on 19 December 2025 within the ICAR-CRIDA campus, with active participation from the institute’s staff.

The plantation drive was conducted under the nationwide initiative “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, which encourages individuals to plant and nurture trees in honour of their mothers. The initiative aimed to enhance green cover, improve the campus ecosystem, and raise awareness about the importance of tree plantation for climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and environmental protection.
During the programme, staff members collectively planted a variety of saplings, reaffirming ICAR-CRIDA’s commitment to environmental sustainability and ecological balance. The activity underscored the responsibility of research institutions to lead by example in adopting eco-friendly practices and supporting national missions on environmental conservation.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from across the institute and served as a reminder of the collective responsibility towards creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable campus environment.
