The Agricultural Education Division of ICAR, in collaboration with the Information and Library Network Centre (INFLIBNET), Gandhinagar, and Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur, jointly organized a one-day Regional Training-cum-Awareness Programme on “One Nation One Subscription” (ONOS) for the Northern Region. The programme was held at the Directorate of Research Auditorium, MPUAT, Udaipur.
In his presidential address, Dr. Pratap Singh, Vice-Chancellor, MPUAT, described the ONOS scheme as a visionary initiative of the Government of India that would significantly strengthen agricultural research at the global level and reaffirm the nation’s commitment to the spirit of “Jai Anusandhan.”

During the valedictory session, Dr. S.K. Sharma, Assistant Director General (EP&HS), ICAR, emphasized that such awareness initiatives play a crucial role in fostering a strong culture of research and innovation in the country. He stated that the “One Nation One Subscription” scheme would serve as a milestone in advancing India toward a knowledge-based economy, provided that scientists, M.Sc. and Ph.D. students actively engage with the ONOS portal and utilize its resources. He also urged nodal officers, senior librarians, and library in-charges to take a leading role in ensuring effective implementation of the initiative.
A comprehensive overview of the ONOS scheme was presented, covering its background, objectives, implementation process, research impact, and usage statistics for the year 2025. It was highlighted that sustained growth in agricultural research publications across various disciplines was observed during 2021–25, reflecting the positive impact of improved access to scholarly resources.
During the technical session, the services offered under the ONOS initiative were elaborated in detail. Participants were provided with step-by-step guidance on INFEED, login procedures, access mechanisms, report generation, and data analysis features available on the ONOS portal. The session was highly interactive and enabled attendees to gain practical insights into the effective utilization of the platform.

The programme also emphasized the significance of ONOS in ensuring seamless and timely access to high-quality international research materials for students, researchers, and faculty members. It was noted that the initiative would play a vital role in enhancing academic excellence and strengthening research productivity within the university system.
The programme witnessed the participation of 75 delegates, including 25 representatives from ICAR institutes and the remaining participants from agricultural universities across the Northern Region.
