Dr. T. Mohapatra, Secretary, DARE & Director General, ICAR laid the foundation stone of Administrative-cum-Laboratory Block of ICAR- ICAR- National Research Centre for Integrated Pest Management (NCIPM) at Rajpur Khurd, Mehrauli, New Delhi .
In his inaugural address, Dr. Mohapatra pointed that IPM is very effective and economic technology to save the crops from pests and NCIPM is serving as a platform to validate and refine IPM practices for major crops for last 30 years. Centre should envisage larger role in making IPM more effective in the country through higher-level integration of multi-disciplinary technologies by means of improved research, education and training for an enhanced crop and ecological health and sustainable agriculture growth.
The major glimpses of the occasion include release of the Institute publications and distribution of award to progressive farmers under various programmes.
Dr. A.K Singh (DDG, Crop Science), Dr. B.L. Jalali, Former Director, ICAR-NCIPM, and Dr. P.K. Chakrabarty, ADG (Plant Protection and Bio Safety), Dr. R. K. Jain (Director (R), ICAR-IARI) Dr. N.K. Singh (Director, ICAR-NRCPB), Dr. T. P. Trivedi, (Former PD, ICAR-DKMA) and Dr. P. Kumar (Emeritus Scientist and Former Director, ICAR-IIMR, Dr. D. B. Ahuja, Director, ICAR-NCIPM and other Directors of ICAR Institutes also graced the occasion. Farmers from different states were also present.
