The ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore, Kolkata organized a Virtual Training Programme on “Sampling Techniques for Fish Catch Estimation in Inland Open Water Bodies for State Government Officials” today.
In his address, Dr. B.K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI, Barrackpore & Course Director stressed on the need of such training programmes. He also outlined about devising a single platform for documenting the fish catch estimation developing Online Apps for greater visibility. In his Lecture on “Overview of inland open water fisheries and fish catch pattern”, Dr. Das emphasized on Cost Benefit Analysis and importance of preventing germplasm depletion.
The training programme was aimed at exploring the concepts of sampling techniques & its applications and familiarizing data collection & catch estimation methods.
Around 125 participants participated in the training programme.
