Religious Saints Lead Campaign against Stubble Burning

4th- 18th October 2018

The KVKs of Punjab, Haryana and UP are organizing special Farmers’ Fairs to exhibit the technologies for residue management besides selling the latest seeds of Rabi crops. During these Melas, special efforts are made to involve various stakeholders for environmental building against residue burning. Efforts are being made to involve noted personalities in the campaign. Religious saints, gurus and noted environmentalists participated in these programmes and urged farming community to shun stubble burning.

Skill Development Training of ASCI for Trainers inaugurated at SKRAU, Bikaner

A 3-day training of trainers (20-22 September, 2018 ) under Sill Development Programme of Agriculture, Skill Council of India for KVKs of ICAR-ATARI, Zone-II was inaugurated today at SKRAU, Bikaner. Main objective of the training is to provide hands on training to Master Trainers on various job roles (qualification packs and model curriculum) so that they can further provide trainings to rural youth for minimum 200 hours duration for their self-employment.

Kisan Mela in Changthang Valley

12th September, 2018, Changthang, Leh

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nyoma, Leh organized Kisan Mela in Changthang valley of Leh situated at an altitude of 13900 ft. Mr. Tsering Wangdus, Executive Councillor, Agriculture, Ladhak Development Council was the chief guest. Farmers and village heads/gobas from different clusters and Tibetan Refugees Camps of Changthang region attended the event and brought their produces for the exhibition.
