SAARC Regional Training Program “Mass Breeding and Culture Technique of Catfishes”

SAARC regional training on “Mass Breeding and Culture Technique of Catfishes” (16-21 July, 2018) was inaugurated at the ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA), Bhubaneswar on 16th July, 2018. The training is jointly organised by the SAARC Agricultural Centre (SAC), Dhaka and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

Skill development programme on open sea cage culture

Tuticorin Research Centre of the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) conducted a three-day training programme on open sea cage culture and mariculture during 27th to 29th June 2018. The training, which was the second phase training under the skill development programme funded by the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), was attended by 50 selected fishers from Thoothukudi district.

Hands-on Training for Farmers from Gujarat

ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering Bhopal organized a “Hands-on Training for Farmers on Improved Agricultural Implements and Machinery” during 3-5 July, 2018.. During the training, participants were briefed on updates of technologies on farm mechanization and agro- processing. They were given hands on training including demonstrations of improved agricultural technologies, necessary adjustments as well as visits to different laboratories.

ICAR-CIFA organizes interface on ‘Aquaone centre’

3 July 2018, Bhubaneswar

The ICAR - Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture today organised an interface meet on “Aquaone Centre (AOC)”. Aquaone centre, a new initiative of National Fisheries Development Board(NFDB), Hyderabad, is an ICT enabled aquaculture support service and would help wider dissemination of newer aquaculture technology and innovation to the fish farming community. It will function in complementarity with exiting public fisheries extension system, informs Dr.Manas Kumar Sinha, Senior executive, NFDB.

Farmer-Scientist Interaction Organised

ICAR-AICRP (STCR) organised a Farmer-Scientist Interaction Meet in collaboration with AICRP (DA) with an objective to imbibe scientific knowledge among the farmers during the kharif season regarding the importance of soil test based nutrient management, use of soil health card as well as enhancing the preparedness for agricultural Contingencies at Sadalpur village, Hisar district, Haryana. 

Tribal farmers’ meet and awareness programme on scientific aquaculture at Kiphire, Nagaland

27th June 2018, Kiphire, Nagaland

ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar, Odisha under its Tribal Sub-Plan Programme and in collaboration with State Fisheries Department, Nagaland conducted the Tribal Farmers’ Meet and Awareness Programme on Scientific Aquaculture at Kiphire, Nagaland today. Kiphire is the Tribal Aspirational District of Nagaland State declared by Government of India.

Workshop on “Improved Carp Polyculture in Village Ponds” in Tribal Dominated Aspirational District Narmada, Gujarat

Workshop on "Improved Carp polyculture in village ponds” was organized by Anand Regional Research Centre of ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubneshwar at Rajpipla, Narmada District, Gujarat on 24th  May, 2018 as a part of Tribal Sub Plan Programme of ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar. Narmada has been identified as the tribal dominated Aspirational District by the Government of India.
