The ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal in collaboration with SAC, Dhaka and International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) organized a regional training program during 5-10 September, 2018 on “Integrated Plant Nutrient Management System in SAARC countries”.

ICAR-National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Bengaluru organized 10-day ICAR Sponsored Short Course on “Recent advances in nutritional-physiological approaches for improving reproduction and production in livestock under climate change scenario” from 20 to 29 Aug 2018.

The role of integrated plant nutrient management system (IPNS) in sustainability of agriculture is important in view of the widespread soil degradation and deterioration of soil health. For increased awareness and greater scientific cooperation among member countries of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), the SAARC Agricultural Centre (SAC), Dhaka, Bangladesh and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) took initiatives for Regional Training Program on various important issues affecting agriculture sector of the region.

A three day capacity development programme on orientation training of trainers for skill development in agriculture was organized by ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana in collaboration with Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) during August 29-September 01, 2018.

ICAR-Directorate of Knowledge Management in Agriculture (DKMA), Informatics publishing Ltd. (J-Gate) and Mohinder Singh Randhawa Library, Punjab Agricultural University jointly organized a one day  'J-gate@CeRA Regional Ambassador Training Programme' for the libraries of north zone Agricultural Universities and Institutes of ICAR.

ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal organized Hands-on Training for Farmers on Improved Agricultural Implements and Machinery under Consortia Research Platform on Farm Mechanization and Precision Farming (CRP on FMPF) during August 21-23, 2018.

Four-month “Certificate Course on Soil & Water Conservation & Watershed Management” concluded at ICAR – Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation, Dehradun on 21st August 2018.

A two-day National Conference on Doubling Farmers’ Income for Sustainable & Harmonious Agriculture (DISHA-2018) was organized by S & T SIRI, an NGO of Telangana, in collaboration with ICAR-RCER RC, Patna, ICAR-IIAB and ICAR-IINRG, Ranchi on 11-12 August, 2018 at ICAR-Indian Institute of Natural Resins and Gums, Ranchi.

ICAR-National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Bengaluru organized a ten-day Short Course on “Technology smart interventions for doubling livestock farmers’ income: Strategies and Approaches” from 30 July 2018 to 08 August 2018.

Sensitization workshop for master trainers of KVKs on “KVK Sandesh” was organized by : ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Hyderabad on 3rd August, 2018.

KVK Sandesh is a digital platform developed by TCS to facilitate advisory services to farmers. It has a web console to be operated at KVK level and mobile app for farmers.
