ICAR-CIFA Conducts Tribal School Students’ Meet on “Fish As Health Food”

ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture under its Tribal Sub-Plan Programme and in collaboration with State Fisheries Department, Ganjam Zone, Berhampur conducted the Tribal School Students’ Meet on “Fish as Health Food” at Sarakari Ashram School, Badapalli village of Digapahandi block in Ganjam District, Odisha on 20th April, 2018.

ICAR- CMFRI trains tribal people in cage fish farming

Aimed at uplifting the living standards of the tribes, the ICAR- Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR- CMFRI) extended technical support in cage farming to around 35 tribal families in T V Puram panchayat in Vaikom, Kottayam on 20th March 2018.  The initiative was part of CMFRI’s project for popularising the less expensive fish farming method among the tribal colonies across the coastal states under the Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

International Training Program on “Rainwater Management for Climate Resilient Agriculture in Drylands” was organized from 15th February-7th March, 2018 at ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad. This program was organized under India–Africa forum Summit-III and sponsored by Ministry of External Affairs.
