ICAR-CIFT celebrated its 61st Foundation Day

ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin celebrated its 61st Foundation Day here today.

Dr. K.K. Vijayan, Director, ICAR-CIBA, Chennai, in his inaugural address, said  ICAR-CIFT is providing quality service to Stakeholders all over the country. He lauded the commendable team work done under the able leadership of the institute for developing several promising fishing, processing and post-harvest technologies for better income generation.

Presiding over the function, Dr. Ravishankar C.N., Director, ICAR-CIFT, Cochin briefed about commendable contributions of the Institute in the realm of Indian fishery and contemporary scientific achievements in the harvest and post-harvest sectors of fisheries. He outlined in detail the achievements of CIFT during the last year.

On this occasion, two MoUs were exchanged between CIFT and M/S HIQ and M/S Aabbaa Fish products on Jack fruit processing and Solar Dryer (50-60 kg) respectively.

Earlier on the day, the institute conducted an OPEN HOUSE programme to reach out to the common people to expose them to the innovative technologies of institute and interact with scientists.
