The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the "Krishi Kumbh - 2018", a three day-long (26 - 28 October - 2018) agricultural extravaganza being organized at ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow through Video-Conferencing today.
He urged the farmers to take advantage of the technologies for optimum use of resources including water and install solar systems in their fields which will help them in running solar pumping sets and they will also be able to sell the surplus electricity to nation.
Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare briefed about the achievements made during last four years of the Modi Government. He assured the farmers that the Modi Government is committed towards upliftment of the farming community.
Chief Minister of the Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath said that fertile land of Uttar Pradesh is capable of producing food grains, sufficient enough to feed the whole world.
Shri Surya Pratap Shahi, Minister of Agriculture, Agriculture Education and Agriculture Research, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh said Krishi Kumbh has been organized for 2.5 crore farmers of the State and adoption of the improved farm technologies will be helpful in boosting agricultural production and farm income.
Smt. Krishna Raj, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and other Ministers of Uttar Pradesh Goverment also graced the occasion.
About 40,000 farmers of all the 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh and adjoining States are participating in this Krishi Kumbh.
