The Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi organizes the 5th Meeting of Asian Soil Partnership (ASP) of Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) including Steering Committee Meeting of Centre of Excellence of Soil Research in Asia (CESRA) at National Agricultural Science Centre Complex, New Delhi.

The Meeting will be organized from 26th February to 1st March - 2019.
The four-days long Meeting aims to fulfill the mandates of Global Soil Partnership (GSP) that aims for improving the governance of the limited soil resources of the planet in order to guarantee the agriculturally productive soils for a food secure world. It also aims to support the other essential ecosystem services in accordance with the sovereign right of each Country/State over its natural resources.
The Meeting will register the participation by about 40 participants from various Asian Countries namely South Korea, Thailand, Japan, Philippines, Bhutan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Laos, Myanmar, Mongolia, Bangladesh, India and representative of FAO.
During the Meeting, the participants will also make a visit to the ICAR-Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, Karnal for understanding the issues related to reclamation & management of sodic and saline soils.
