ICAR-IISS, Bhopal inks MoUs with RGPV and Barkatullah University, Bhopal

The ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal inked the Memorandums of Understanding with the Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal on 27^th June, 2019 and Barkatullah University (B.U.), Bhopal on 23^rd June, 2019.

Dr. Ashok K. Patra, Director, ICAR-IISS, Bhopal and Dr. Sunil Kumar Gupta, Vice-Chancellor signed the MoU on the behalf of RGPV and Dr. R.J. Rao, Vice-Chancellor on the behalf of Barkatullah University.

The MoU signed between ICAR-IISS and RGPV is meant for long-term collaboration for the promotion of Students' Training and Quality Postgraduate Research in the cutting edge areas in accordance with the guidelines of ICAR.

With the MoU, the ICAR-IISS, Bhopal and RGPV, Bhopal have agreed for the collaborative programmes in the fields of research, education, training & capacity building, extension consultancy and other areas of agriculture sciences of national interest. Both the organizations have also agreed for the mutual recognition of the faculty of both the Institutes for the research and teaching purposes. With this initiative, the students and faculties will be able to carry out the specific research, teaching and outreach activities at the laboratories of the institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Patra and Dr. Sunil Kumar stated that the MoU will help both the organizations in addressing the emerging issues in agricultural science and technology and will also assist in dealing with the challenging task of doubling the farmers’ income.

As per the conditions, the MOU shall initially be valid for a period of 3 years extendable up to 5 years.

The Senior Officials of both the organizations were present on the occasion.
