The ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar in collaboration with All India Coordinated Research Project on Home Science, PJTSAU Centre, Hyderabad organized the “Review Meeting of AICRP on Home Science” at Hyderabad today.
Dr. V.N. Sharada, RAC Chairman and Former Member, Agricultural Scientists’ Recruitment Board regarded the meeting as one of the mandates of RAC recommendations for visiting the AICRP Centres to critically examine the working and functioning patterns. He urged the 13 AICRP-Home Science Centres to work with holistic approach and with a wider perspective by covering 21 agro-ecological regions in 29 states. He insisted on assessment of all the government programmes at state and central level by the AICRP Centres and have linkages with all the line departments for establishing the national status. He advised for thinking macro and acting micro for the better performance and greater impact.
Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar urged all the AICRP Centres for contributing as per the ICAR-CIWA’s mandate. He also emphasized on carrying out the responsibilities of Technical and Unit Coordinator in coordination for representing the AICRP Centres’ achievements in a holistic manner. He also stressed on recommending the better planning in terms of technology application, entrepreneurial development and market linkage to make the project activities more purposeful.
At the outset, Dr. Lipi Das, Nodal Officer, AICRP on Home Science highlighted the importance of the meeting with the RAC members for getting the constructive ideas to restructure the AICRP on Home Science into AICRP on Women in Agriculture.
The members also visited the Tollukatta Village, Moinabadmandal, Rangareddy District to scrutinize the field level work and directly interact with the women farmers.
