Okra Field Day - 2020 organized

The Zonal Technology Management Unit of ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh organized a “Virtual Field Day on Okra” today.

In his welcome address, Dr. Jagdish Singh, Director, ICAR-IIVR, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh apprised the participants about the important varieties / hybrids of Okra available and the Institute’s commitment to make it available to the farmers through the strong marketing network of the private seed companies.

Dr. P.M. Singh, Principal Investigator, Zonal Technology Management Unit, ICAR-IIVR, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh outlined the participants about the programme.

The Field Day was aimed at showcasing and commercializing the promising Okra varieties, hybrids and advanced lines developed by the Institute.

More than 40 breeders and marketing strategists from 29 Private Vegetable Seed Companies along with 5 Representatives from companies having their research and marketing team at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh attended the programme.
