Skill Development Programme on “Making of Fibre-based Decorative Items for Women and SHG Members” concludes

The two-week long Training Programme on “Skill Development in Making of Fibre-based Decorative Items for Farm Women and Youths” organized by the ICAR-Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres, Barrackpore, Kolkata from 7th to 24th December, 2021 concluded today.

Delivering the valedictory address, Shri Ajay Kumar Jolly, Managing Director, Jute Corporation of India, Government of India encouraged the participants for taking-up the value-addition in Jute as an Entrepreneurial activity to augment the off-farm income.

In his address, Dr. Gouranga Kar, Director, ICAR-CRIJAF, Barrackpore highlighted the importance of Jute-based diversified products in the national and international markets. He also encouraged the participants for registering their Self-Help Groups with online platforms for the e-Marketing of value-added Jute products.

The participants were imparted with the Skills on making the Jute-based various decorative items.
