Skill Development Programme on “Making of Fibre-based Decorative Items for Women and SHG Members” concludes

The two-week long Training Programme on “Skill Development in Making of Fibre-based Decorative Items for Farm Women and Youths” organized by the ICAR-Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres, Barrackpore, Kolkata from 7^th to 24^th December, 2021 concluded today.

Delivering the valedictory address, Shri Ajay Kumar Jolly, Managing Director, Jute Corporation of India, Government of India encouraged the participants for taking-up the value-addition in Jute as an Entrepreneurial activity to augment the off-farm income.

In his address, Dr. Gouranga Kar, Director, ICAR-CRIJAF, Barrackpore highlighted the importance of Jute-based diversified products in the national and international markets. He also encouraged the participants for registering their Self-Help Groups with online platforms for the e-Marketing of value-added Jute products.

The participants were imparted with the Skills on making the Jute-based various decorative items.
