The Virtual Induction Training Programme on “Project Management and Research Methodology for the Scientists of Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, Uttarakhand” organized by the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad from 3rd to 14th May, 2021 concluded today.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad highlighted the significance of winning research grants and science communication to be a successful researcher.
Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad emphasized on the need to strengthen the partnership between both the agricultural and forestry scientists by leveraging the existing Institutional mechanisms.

Earlier, Dr. H.S. Ginwal, Dean, (Academic), FRI, Dehradun contextualized the training module in their overall foundation course.
The participants consisted of 30 Newly Recruited Scientists attached with FRI as a part of their Foundation Course conducted by the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The programme was organized as a part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the ICAR and ICFRE.
The participants were introduced to the concept of Design Thinking (DT) and its use in the various aspects related to research management, with relevant illustrations and case studies. The innovative exercises were designed to instill DT perspectives among the participants in research problem identification, prioritization of research solutions, research concept development and project logframe construction.
