Key Functions

  • Planning, coordination, and policy formulation for higher agricultural education across the National Agricultural Research and Education System (NARES).

  • Curriculum design, revision, and implementation in alignment with NEP 2020 and emerging agri-sector needs.

  • Conducting All India Entrance Examinations (AIEEA) for admission to UG, PG, and PhD programs in AUs.

  • Accreditation and quality assurance of AUs through the National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board (NAEAB).

  • Capacity building, training, and competency enhancement of faculty and administrators.

  • Development and monitoring of Student READY (Rural Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojana) experiential learning programs.

  • Implementation of digital education platforms such as AgMOOCs and blended learning systems.

  • Coordination of international collaborations, student exchange, and fellowship programs.
