Two training-cum-input distribution programmes focusing on health management in rainbow trout farming were organized on 28 January 2026 at Mandi, and 29 January 2026 at Kullu by ICAR-Central Institute of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Bhimtal, Bhimtal, in collaboration with the Directorate of Fisheries, Himachal Pradesh under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) scheme.

These programmes included expert-led sessions on health management practices in rainbow trout farming, seed and hatchery management and government schemes to promote trout farming. Training aimed at enhancing technical skills and knowledge of farmers for sustainable trout farming in hills.
Progressive farmers shared their practical experiences on Best Management Practices in trout farming in raceways and RAS. It helped farmers in gaining valuable insights essential for rainbow trout farming.
Farm inputs like trout feed, ice boxes, plastic crates, hand nets and medicines were also distributed among the farmers to support their ongoing trout farming activities.

The event was held under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Amit Pande, Director, ICAR-CICFR, Bhimtal and Shri Vivek Chandel, IAS, Director-cum-Warden, Fisheries, Himachal Pradesh.
