As part of the NEC-funded NERCOMS project, the ICAR–National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, Nagaland, in collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Arunachal Pradesh, successfully organised a Health Camp for Mithun at Mirem village in Arunachal Pradesh.
The programme aimed at enhancing the health, productivity, and scientific management of Mithun through field-level veterinary interventions.

During the camp, comprehensive body measurements of the animals were recorded, blood samples were collected for health assessment and disease screening, and ear tagging was carried out to ensure proper identification and traceability. As part of the health management initiative, the animals were also provided with necessary veterinary treatment and preventive healthcare services to improve their overall well-being and productivity.
The programme witnessed the active participation of scientists, veterinary officials, and local Mithun owners, reflecting strong institutional collaboration towards the conservation, scientific management, and sustainable development of Mithun in the North Eastern Region.
