ICAR-CTCRI, Thiruvananthapuram Organizes Swachhata Awareness Activities for School Students

As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, the ICAR–Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, Thiruvananthapuram, organized a school outreach programme at Government High School, Sreekaryam, Thiruvananthapuram, today.

The programme, held under the campaign’s prescribed “Engagement with School Children” activities, saw active participation from students, teachers, volunteers, scientists and staff of ICAR-CTCRI.

An interactive awareness session was also organized, bringing together students, teachers, volunteers, scientists and staff. The session highlighted the importance of cleanliness, sanitation, responsible waste management and community participation in maintaining clean and healthy surroundings. Students were encouraged to adopt and promote swachhata practices in their schools, homes and communities.

Around 100 participants enthusiastically participated in the programme, reaffirming the importance of engaging young minds in building a culture of cleanliness and responsible environmental practices.
