DARE-ICAR Organizes Initiatives to Integrate School Children with Swachhata for Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign

The Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) - Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and its various institutes and branches situated all over India have been actively promoting cleanliness and sanitation through various initiatives. Specifically, working on integrating citizens with the spirit of “Swachhata” (cleanliness) during the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign this year.  It’s heartening to see efforts aimed at cleanliness and community engagement.

Under the campaign, the Swachhata drive was taken up by DARE and ICAR and its various institutes in North-Eastern Region and also at the various schools therein to find out the most unique and inspiring initiatives to integrate school children with cleanliness and environmental awareness.

The team of experts from ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Guwahati, North Sikkim, found a unique and inspiring initiative by organizing an exposure visit to sensitize students on the importance of swachhata and vermicomposting at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, North Sikkim.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ri Bhoi, at ICAR for NEH Region, Meghalaya, Shillong, also organized cleanliness initiatives in nearby villages and roadsides in the neighbourhood areas of the KVK. Employees of the organization and locals joined hands for cleanliness initiatives.
