Swachh Bharat Diwas Celebrated at ICAR-CTCRI, Thiruvananthapuram

Swachh Bharat Diwas was celebrated at ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, Thiruvananthapuram, today, marking the culmination of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026. The programme commenced with floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary.

As part of the celebration, fruit trees were planted at the cleaned Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs) under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, promoting urban greenery and environmental sustainability.

During the concluding programme, Safai Mitras, students, skilled farm staff, security personnel and volunteers were felicitated with gifts in recognition of their valuable contribution and continued support towards the successful conduct of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign. Safai Mitras who contributed to various activities organised throughout the campaign had also been recognised and presented with prizes during earlier events.

Safai Mitras, security personnel, farm workers, temporary and project staff, students, research scholars, scientists and other staff members of ICAR-CTCRI actively participated in the programme. Their collective participation reflected the spirit of the campaign theme, “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag – Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat.”
