Dr. Gautam Kalloo, Vice-Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV), Jabalpur inaugurated the National Seminar on “Innovative Extension Approaches for Enhancing Rural Household Income”. Dr. Kalloo elaborated the important role of Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s in technology generation, assessment, refinement and technology transfer.
Dr. C Prasad, Former Deputy Director General (Agriculture Extension), ICAR and sub-group leader of Planning Commission emphasized on the responsibility of formulating the extension strategy for next 12th Five Year plan in his Presidential remarks.
Dr. S S Tomar, Director, Research Services welcomed all the delegates and dignitaries of the session and briefed the importance of the chosen topic of the seminar in the present scenario of agricultural development in terms of research and extension.
Dr. Baldeo Singh, President, Indian Society of Extension Education delivered the talk on special emphasis to better utilization of the developed technology. He also elaborated on women empowerment and recognition, the stakeholder audit and our need priority.
Distinguished dignitaries - Dr. R.P. Singh former Vice-Chancellor, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, Dr. P.N. Jha, Former Vice-Chancellor, Rajendra Agriculture University, Bihar, Dr.B.D.Rai, Dr. C.Satpati, Dr. B.L.Kalantri, Former Commissioner, Sericulture Govt. of Maharashtra and more than 300 scientists across the country are participating in the seminar.
The National Seminar is organized by Madhya Society of Extension Education, JNKVV, Jabalpur in collaboration with Indian Society of Extension Education, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi (September 27 -29, 2011).
