Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra , Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) visited Kalyani Field Station, Rahara RRC of ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubneshwar today.


Dr. Mohapatra in his address emphasized on integrated farming system for the economic development of the resource-poor farmers. Director General released two pamphlets, one on “Nutrition Facts” and the other on “Dissemination of freshwater Aquaculture technologies in Bali Island, Sunderban, West Bengal”.He was accompanied by Dr. J. K. Jena, DDG (Fy. Sci), Dr. V. R Suresh, Director (Acting), ICAR-CIFRI.
Dr. P. Jayasankar, Director, ICAR-CIFA assured that the centre would address all issues related to aquaculture development in the region.
A Tribal Fish Farmers’ Meet (Jalabhumi Diwas) was organized on the occasion. Fish Farmers from Sunderban, Naihati, Mursidabad and Hooghly participated in the meet
