ICAR-Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur celebrated 30th foundation day

ICAR-Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur celebrated its 30th foundation with fervour and enthusiasm here today.

Dr Tilak Raj Sharma, Deputy Director General (Crop Sciences), ICAR graced the occasion as the Chief Guest on the occasion and delivered the foundation day lecture. He appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Institute towards achieving ever highest pulse production in the country. Dr Sharma urged scientists and staff of the Institute for continued efforts for sustaining the current growth of pulse. He stressed on   minimizing production cost of pulses farming for better income of farmers.

The Chief Guest also laid the foundation stone of the speed breeding facility at the Institute and unveiled the high protein and fibre biscuits brand –Delomeo of Mahodaya Agriworks- an Incubatee of ABI unit of the institute

Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, ADG (Oilseed &Pulses) ICAR, the Guest of Honour, stressed upon development of biofortified pulse varieties along with the package of practices, value addition of pulses and strengthening the digital initiatives for enhancing the reach to pulse growers of the country.  

Dr Bansa Singh, Director, ICAR-IIPR presented the salient achievements of the institute in fields of research, extension and infrastructure development.

On the occasion, awards for best performing staff in scientific, technical and supporting categories were given. Five progressive farmers were also awarded on the occasion.

Three research bulletins and one folder were released on the occasion.
