Live streaming of Launch of Bhumi Suposhan and Samrakshan Nationwide Jan Abhiyan Organised at ICAR-CIFRI, Barrackpore

ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore, organized a live streaming of the Bhumi Suposhan and Samrakshan Nationwide Jan Abhiyan to witness its formal launch by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare & Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The initiative marks a significant national effort towards restoring soil health and advancing sustainable agricultural practices.

In his address, the Minister underscored the urgent need to rejuvenate soil fertility through balanced nutrient management and conservation-oriented approaches. He emphasized the importance of scientific crop rotation in sustaining soil productivity and advocated for the wider adoption of natural farming systems. Highlighting the power of collective action, he called for a nationwide public awareness movement to promote Bhumi Suposhan (soil nutrition) and sustainable land management for long-term agricultural resilience.
