Report on Campaign for Balanced Use of Fertilizers under ICAR-ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad

The intensive campaign on balanced use of fertilisers conducted on 12 May 2026 across eight KVKs of Andhra Pradesh under ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute Zone X, Hyderabad effectively integrated field-level extension, farmer training, and digital outreach to promote scientific nutrient management and sustainable agricultural practices.

A total of 10 awareness programmes were organized, directly reaching 671 farmers, while 6 training programmes benefited 285 farmers. Stakeholder and interface meetings covered 61 participants, strengthening farmer–scientist interactions and institutional convergence.Digital dissemination emerged as a major strength of the campaign, achieving a social media reach of 2,21,632 farmers through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and other platforms, complemented by 1,074 farmers covered through direct physical contact and KVK interactions.

Extension interventions included demonstrations on biofertilizers and sustainable nutrient management practices, along with awareness activities such as poster displays and wall writings, thereby significantly enhancing awareness and adoption of balanced fertiliser use across the participating districts.

The intensive campaign on balanced use of fertilisers conducted on 12 May 2026 across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry under ICAR-ATARI Zone X covered all 72 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and demonstrated strong convergence of field-level extension, capacity building, and digital outreach.

A total of 36 awareness programmes were organized, directly reaching 1,308 farmers, while 15 training programmes benefited 693 farmers on scientific nutrient management, soil health improvement, and sustainable agricultural practices.

The campaign also included stakeholder and interface meetings involving 57 participants and expert interactions delivered through KVKs, strengthening farmer–scientist linkages.Digital dissemination emerged as the major strength of the campaign, achieving a massive social media reach of 2,90,383 farmers through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and other platforms, complemented by 2,367 farmers covered through direct physical contact and KVK interactions.

Extension interventions included 39 demonstrations on green manuring, biofertilizers, and other sustainable nutrient management practices, along with awareness activities such as poster displays and wall writings, thereby significantly enhancing awareness and promoting adoption of balanced fertiliser use across the Zone.
