Dr Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICAR, New Delhi visited ICAR-National Research Centre on Pig, Rani on 3 September 2017, and inaugurated Farmers’ Hostel and Quality Control Laboratory at the Centre. The newly constructed Farmers’ Hotel has the capacity to accommodate 25 trainees at a time which will facilitate the Centre to organize residential training programmes from time to time. The Quality Control Laboratory, a unique capability in the region, has the facility to test different microbial pathogens, pesticide and drug residues present in pork and pork products. Setting up of such state-of-the-art facilities will definitely cater to the needs of entrepreneurs of the region to produce and supply quality pork and pork products. Dr. R.S.Gandhi, ADG (AP&B), ICAR, and Dr Devinder Dhingra, Nodal officer and Principal Scientist (Process Engineering), ICAR, New Delhi, Dr Dilip Kumar Sarma, Director ICAR-, A K Tripathi, Director ATARI, Zone VI and all the staffs of the Institute were present during inauguration of the buildings.
