Review Meeting of AICRP on Home Science organized

20 to 22 June, 2019, Bangalore

The All India Coordinated Research Project on Home Science organized the Review Meeting at University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore from 20th to 22nd June, 2019.

The main aim of the meeting was to monitor the research activities of Food and Nutrition component.

Dr. N.S. Rathore, Deputy Director General (Education), ICAR, New Delhi stressed on the need for working in a collaborative manner with an inter-disciplinary approach. Dr. Rathore opined for a thought on 3Ws - Work done, Work culture and Way forward. He stated that the Work done needs to revamp 3 Ps - Package of practice, Publication and Patents.

Dr. M.B. Chetti, Vice-Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad opined for commercialising the technologies in the University, in particular the Textile and Apparel Designing and the Food Science and Nutrition Departments either through the patenting or by branding, labelling, pricing or marketing.

Dr. Lipi Das, Principal Scientist and Scientist-in-Charge, AICRP on Home Science and Dr. Gayatri Moharana Member Secretary AICRP Cell, ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar held a meeting with Dr. S. Rajendra Prasad, Vice-Chancellor, Bengaluru.

Dr. Prasad highlighted the research activities carried out at the Bengaluru Centre. He emphasized for commercialising the food products. Dr. Prasad urged for the support from the ICAR for starting the degree programme at U.A.S., Bengaluru.

The occasion also held an Interaction-Cum-Review Meeting for the formulation of new proposals submitted by the U.A.S., Dharwad Centre. The meeting was chaired by Dr. N.S. Rathore, DDG (Education), ICAR, New Delhi in the gracious presence of Dr. M.B. Chetti, Vice-Chancellor, U.A.S., Dharwad; Dr. H.L. Nadaf, Director (Research); Dr. P.L. Patil, Associate Director (Research), U.A.S., Dharwad and Faculty of Community Science on 22nd June, 2019.

The millet based products developed from U.A.S., Bangalore Centre were released by the dignitaries on the occasion.

During the meeting, the five broad programmes with the specific objectives and methodologies were finalized to be carried by all the centres during the Year - 2020-25.
