ICAR-CISH, Lucknow organizes Buyer-Seller Meet

The ICAR-Central Institute of Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow organized the Buyer-Seller Meeting today.

The buyers came under the International Export Promotion Programme organized by the Agriculture and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Shri V.K. Vats, General Manager, APEDA and Dr. C.B. Singh, Assistant General Manager, APEDA were also present during the meeting.

During the meeting, the foreign buyers expressed their interest in the GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) certified Malihabadi Mangoes.

Dr. Shailendra Rajan, Director, ICAR-CISH stated about the development of GAP certification guidelines for the mango by the Institute. Dr. Rajan also sought the cooperation from the APEDA for the GAP certification of mango orchards of Malihabad in order to help and enable at least 2,000 farmers to get the GAP certificates for producing the mangoes through Good Agricultural Practices.

The buyers from 16 countries - United States of America, Italy, China, Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Iran and Vietnam along with Indian buyers participated in the meeting.

The main aim of the meeting was to promote the export of mangoes and mango products in the international markets from Uttar Pradesh.
