The ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad has organized a 21-day Virtual Training Programme on “Communication and Management Skills for Extension Professionals” from today.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Dr. R.K. Samanta, Former Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad & Former Vice-Chancellor, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Kalyani, West Bengal emphasized on the critical importance of communication and management skills for the effective and efficient extension and advisory service delivery. Accentuating on the changing perspectives in the noble profession of agricultural extension, he urged the participants to put in their best efforts for reaching out to farming communities to foster inclusive and sustainable livelihood security.
In his address, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad highlighted the intricate interface between the communication and management skills and categorically stressed on the need for continuously improving these critical competencies for the success of extension efforts.
The programme aims at enabling the participants to benchmark and enhance their communication and management skills for the effective extension and advisory services.
A total of 78 participants (24 women and 54 men) representing the Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Agricultural Universities and other Institutions from 19 States and 2 Union Territories are virtually participating in the training programme.
