The ICAR-Directorate of Floricultural Research, Pune, Maharashtra organized a Farmers’ Awareness Campaign on “Balanced Use of Fertilizers” today.
Dr. K.V. Prasad, Director, ICAR-DFR, Pune highlighted the country’s progress from the traditional fertilizer application to integrated nutrient management and achievement of self-sufficiency in food production.

Dr. H.K. Kausadikar, Director (Research / Education), MCAER, Pune, Maharashtra apprised the farmers about the importance of maintaining the soil health and the ways in which healthy soils support plant growth and enhance the crop yield.
The programme aimed at making the farmers aware about the aspects of balanced fertilization and soil health was organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
