The ICAR-Directorate of Poultry Research, Hyderabad organized a Webinar on “Avian Influenza on World Zoonoses Day - 2021” today.
In his address, Dr. R.N. Chatterjee, Director, ICAR-DPR, Hyderabad emphasized on minimizing the impacts of Avian Influenza on the poultry sector and human health.
In his Talk on “Avian Influenza: Is still to be considered as a significant threat for public health?”, Dr. J.M. Kataria, Former Director, ICAR-Central Avian Research Institute, highlighted the various subtypes of the Avian Influenza Virus and its zoonotic potential. He also underlined the impacts of past Avian Influenza Pandemics like Spanish Flu, Asian Flu, Hong Kong Flu, Russian Flu, etc.
A total of 130 participants from the different parts of the country participated in the Webinar.
The Webinar was organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
