The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tapi, Gujarat in collaboration with Reliance Foundation organized the “Virtual Training Programme on Poultry Farming for Rural Poultry Farmers” today.
In his address, Dr. C.D. Pandya, Head, KVK apprised the farmers about the various farmers-oriented activities being carried out by Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Dr. Pandya also urged the farmers for maximizing the use of “Aarogya Setu” and “Kisan Rath” Apps as well as Toll Free Helpline Numbers issued by the Government of India.
Dr. Vishal Rathod, Veterinary Officer, IPDP, Surat discussed about the various supportive schemes of the State Government to encourage the farmers for poultry farming. He also outlined the information about the various stages of poultry rearing in a scientific manner, such as, food, shelter, water and vaccination, etc.
The training programme was aimed at providing the information to the rural poultry farmers about raising poultry in a scientific manner at home during the lockdown period due to the outbreak of the deadliest COVID-19.
A total of 88 Poultry Farmers living in the rural areas of Vyara, Valod and Songadh Talukas registered their participation through video conferencing in the programme.
