Make Difference in People Lives, urged DG, ICAR

Dr. S. Ayyappan, Secretary, DARE and DG, ICAR today visited Zonal Project Directorate, Zone-II, Kolkata and interacted with scientists and staff of the Directorate. He urged scientists to conceive projects on real time monitoring of KVKs; online reporting systems; stringent evaluation etc. Making difference in people’s lives should be the yardstick for successful extension work, he added.

Dr A. K. Singh, Zonal Project Director, made a brief presentation on salient achievements of the Directorate. The Directorate monitors 83 KVKs spread across West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. For the first time, a Management Information System (MIS) for KVKs has been developed that enables quick retrieval of information for better monitoring.
