Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR) inaugurates International Training-cum-Workshop on “Sustainable Fisheries and Dairy”

6th December 2023, Barrackpore

International Training-cum-Workshop on “Sustainable Fisheries and Dairy” under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) of the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR) today at ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore. The 14-day training programme from 6th - 19th December 2023 aims towards capacity building for the countries in the global south particularly in the Indo-Pacific region.

Training Programme on ‘Livelihood Generation through Value-Added Fish and Fishery Products’

27th November – 1st December 2023, Bhimtal

A five-day hands-on training programme on ‘Livelihood Generation through Value Added Fish and Fishery Products’ was conducted at Experimental Fish Farm, ICAR- Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Champawat from 27th November to 1st December 2023.

Training-cum-hand on-practices programme on Scientific Use of Yak Fibres

24th November 2023, Dirang

ICAR- National Research Center, Yak, Dirang, conducted a training-cum-hands-on-practices programme on “Scientific Use of Yak Fibers with Special Reference to Chamar Making for Better Economic Returns of Yak Farmers” today in it Dirang campus.

Dr. Mihir Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NRC, yak, suggested the yak herders to opt for the opportunity to take up such trainings from this institute and make up their yak farming more remunerative.

Training for ethanol industry stakeholders

29th November- 1st December 2023, Ludhiana

ICAR-Indian Institute of Maize Research, Ludhiana organised a master training programme on “Best management practices in maize for profitable bioethanol production” from 29th November to 1st December 2023. The training programme aimed to enlighten stakeholders from the ethanol industry and their collaborators about the best practices in maize management to enhance productivity and facilitate bioethanol production.
