ICAR-National Research Centre on Yak, West Kemang in collaboration with Eastern Regional Station, ICAR-NDRI, Kalyani, organized one-day Pig rearing programme for Tribal Farmers of Yewang village, West Kameng District today.

ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Regional Centre, Udhagamandalam, organizing thirteen-day capacity building programme on “Field Engineering Training on Forest watershed management” for the Assistant Conservator of Forests from 22nd September to 04th October 2016 at IISWC Regional Centre.

ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack organized training programme on “Hybrid Rice Production Technology for increasing Productivity” (20-24 September, 2016) to enhance knowledge and skills on hybrid rice production technology.

27th September 2016, Varanasi

ICAR sponsored 12-day training on“Principles and production techniques of hybrid seed in vegetables” (27 September – 8 October 2016) was inaugurated at ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi today.

ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur organized an ICAR-sponsored 21- day Summer School on “Livelihood and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation through Agroforestry" from 3rd to 23rd August, 2016.

A skill development programme for fisherwomen on “Net making and mending” was organized by Fishing Technology Division of ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin during 8-12 August, 2016.

Shri K.J. Maxy, Member of the Legislative Assembly, Cochin constituency inaugural address emphasised the need for empowerment of women through such training programmes in making them competent in the fisheries sector.

Rajendran (Vice Chancellor, KAU) inaugurated a sensitization workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship Development and Business Plan Competition for Students of South Indian Universities’, jointly organised by the National Academy for Agriculture Research Management (Hyderabad), Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (Kerala),Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, and Kerala Agricultural University at Thrissur, and emphasized the need of convergence of technology and entrepreneurship to facilitate emergence of start-up ventures in the agriculture sector.

A 06-days training programme on “Manufacture of jute Handicrafts” under Agri Business Incubation (ABI) Project, ICAR-NIRJAFT, Kolkata was organized at KVK, Bhadrak (OUAT) Odisha from August 25-30, 2016. 15 trainees from Bhadrak district, Odisha associated with agro-based craft works have participated in this programme.
