Skill Development Programme inaugurated on Ornamental Fish for Women Self Help Group

A three-day Skill Development Programme on Ornamental Fish Resources for Livelihood and Income Generation for SC Women Self Help Group Members was inaugurated at ICAR- National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow.The training programme focus on developing entrepreneurial skills through potential business on ornamental fish among 20 women Self-Help Group Members from Scheduled Caste Member from below poverty line.

Distribution-cum-Training programme of tribal farmers of Gurez, District Bandipora

20th July 2023, Srinagar

Training cum distribution programme was conducted under TSP Scheme for the tribal farmers of District Bandipora at Izmarg Gurez in collaboration with KVK/ MAR&ES-SKUAST-K in which 50 tribal farmers participated on 20th July 2023.

Dr M K Verma, Director, ICAR-CITH, Srinagar acquainted the farmers regarding importance of training programmes and gave the future line of action regarding walnut varietal introduction, off season nursery of vegetables and Kala Zera cultivation under TSP Scheme for tribal farmers of the area.

ICAR-NAHEP sponsored training program organized by ICAR NMRI, Hyderabad

ICAR-National Meat Research Institute, Hyderabad successfully organized a one-week certificate training program on “Advanced Techniques for Ensuring Quality and Safety of Muscle Foods” from 17-24 July, 2023. This program was conducted under the World Bank Funded NAHEP-CAAST project entitled "Centre of Excellence for Advanced Research on Animal Food Safety" implemented at Mumbai Veterinary College, Mumbai.

ICAR-NBFGR traines Officers of the Department of Fisheries, Government of Madhya Pradesh on “Quality broodstock development using fish-milt cryobanking”

ICAR- National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow conducted a 5-day training-cum-capacity building programme on ‘Quality broodstock development using fish milt cryobanking’ during 12-16 June, 2023, for the benefit of the fisheries Officers of the Department of Fisheries, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

Dr. U. K. Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NBFGR emphasized the vital role of cryopreservation techniques in developing quality broodstock and genetically diversified seeds for aquaculture, conservation and research in current climatic challenges.

ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai and  Doordarshan Kendra, Worli (Mumbai) organized Agriculture and Fisheries Doordarshan Programme Advisory Workshop. The objective of this workshop was to identify and priorities the agricultural and fisheries programmes which can be broadcasted through Krishidarshan and Amchi Mati Amchi Manase programmes of Doordarshan for the benefit of farmers, fishermen, fisherwomen, farm women, youth and entrepreneurs during July-September, 2023.

A five-day training programme on the “Production protocol of biocontrol agents for the management of Fall armyworm” was organized at ICAR-National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources, Bengaluru for seven officials from Nepal and Bangladesh during 22nd -26th  May 2023.
