Training-cum-capacity building programme on, “‘Quality broodstock development using fish-milt cryobanking’ organized by ICAR-NBFGR

ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow conducted a 5-day training-cum-capacity building programme on ‘Quality broodstock development using fish milt cryobanking’ during 19-23 June 2023, for the Fisheries Officers of the Department of Fisheries, Government of Chhattisgarh.

Hands-on training on cytogenetic and genotoxicity assessment markers: Capacity-building efforts by ICAR-NBFGR

ICAR-NBFGR conducted a 10-days hands-on training programme on 'cytogenetic and genotoxicity assessment markers' under the guidance of Dr. U. K. Sarkar, Director, ICAR- National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow during 06-15 June 2023.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. S. D. Singh, former ADG, Inland Fisheries, ICAR, New Delhi.

ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow is putting institutional efforts towards community empowerment through a participatory approach for the fish farmers especially women fish farmers of the remotely located villages in West Bengal.

ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology, Mumbai organized a workshop on “Role of Design, Copyright, and Trademark: Scientific and Entrepreneurial Perspective” today in line with DARE-ICAR Campaign for Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav India@75. This workshop was arranged by ITMU and ABIC of the Institute with Support from the National Agriculture Innovation Fund, Intellectual Property and Technology Management Unit of ICAR, New Delhi.

Workshop-cum-Training on “Biofloc production technology”

1st to 4th May 2023, Chennai

A four-day workshop cum training programme on Biofloc technology was conducted at ICAR- Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai during 1st - 4th May, 2023.

Dr. Kuldeep K Lal, Director, ICAR-CIBA, in his inaugural address, stressed the importance of the biofloc farming practice in the field of aquaculture. He briefed on the importance of better management practices for sustainable aquaculture and emphasized that scientific knowledge behind the technology is important rather than believing the trends on social media.

Capacity Building of Hill Farmers for Ornamental fish farming: A new initiative of ICAR-CIFRI

Ornamental fish farming is a promising venture for upscaling rural livelihood. Rural people especially the women involved in this farming system due to its easier cultural practice and less space requirement, even the backyard can be used for a perfect cultural site. Through PMSSY, it can be helpful to enhance the socio-economic condition of people and eventually for the development of a better nation.
