Skill up-scaling and knowledge sharing to fish farmers of Darbhanga district, Bihar

Situated to the east of the Baghmati River, a tributary of the Ganga River, the Darbhanga district of Bihar is very innovative in its use of inland open waters. Despite having an abundance of aquatic resources, this district lacks an adequate quantity of fish to meet demand.

Capacity building programme for social upliftment of ‘tharu’ tribal farmers through agricultural interventions

To empower the tribal farmers living in far-flung locations, ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna organized a three-day capacity-building programme on ‘Scientific interventions in agricultural practices to enhance the income of tribal farmers’ under STC plan of Network Project on Animal Genetic Resources, funded by ICAR-NBAGR, Karnal, from March 22-24, 2023 in Naurangia village under Ramnagar block of West Champaran district.

Under the Mission towards zero non-descript AnGR of India, ICAR- National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources, Karnal organized 14th State Interface meet on ‘Characterization and Documentation of Animal Genetic Resources of Arunachal Pradesh’ in collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development (AHVDD), Arunachal Pradesh at Directorate of AHVDD Nirjuli-Itanagar.

Awareness-cum-Skill Training Programme on “Value added Fish Products” Organized by ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar

A one day awareness-cum-skill training programme on “Value added fish products” was organized by ICAR- Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar, Odisha today in collaboration with KVK-Khordha, Odisha at Kamaguru, Tangi Block, Odisha for the tribal women beneficiaries of Khordha district under the TSP/STC programme of the Institute.

Farmers’ Training on ‘Improved Cultivation Techniques of Spices and Its Post-Harvest Management’

The ICAR Research Complex for North eastern Hill Region, Mizoram Centre, Kolasib, had organized three days Farmers’ training on “Improved cultivation techniques of Spices and its post-harvest management” at ICAR, Kolasib .

The Head of Regional Centre, Dr. S. Doley, ICAR Mizoram Centre, delivered a brief inaugural address highlighting the importance of spices in Mizoram, scientific cultivation and processing as key aspects for higher income and economic stability.

 ICAR–Central Institute of Post–Harvest Engineering and Technology, Ludhiana along with ICAR-ATARI Ludhiana in collaboration with KVK Ludhiana (Samrala) organized a three-days training program on “Value Addition of Cereals and Millets for Nutritional Security” . under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan scheme of Government of India.
