Hindi Pakhwada Celebrated at ICAR–DFR, Pune

The ICAR–Directorate of Floricultural Research (DFR), Pune, is celebrating Hindi Pakhwada from 14 to 30 September 2025 with great enthusiasm. The initiative, in line with the Government of India’s efforts to promote Hindi as an official language, seeks to encourage its wider use across sectors, particularly among younger generations, while fostering national pride and cultural identity.

Hindi Pakhwada Celebrated at ICAR–DFR, Pune

As part of the celebration, a series of theme-based competitions such as Hindi word writing, essay writing, dictation, poetry recitation, quiz, and rangoli making are being organized at the Directorate. So far, three events Shrutlekh, Nibandh Lekhan, and Kavya Path have been conducted, with active participation from staff members.

During the Nibandh Lekhan competition, Dr. Mahendra Kumar Verma, Director, ICAR–Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and proposed the topic “Operation Sindoor.”

The programme also includes a Hindi Karyashala, featuring a guest lecture by an expert on official language. The celebrations will conclude with an award ceremony to recognize and honor the winners of various competitions.
